Credit Union Art for kids

The Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU) has always encouraged, as an integral part of the community, self-expression, creativity and imagination among artists all over Ireland .

Each credit union is invited to nominate children aged between 7-13 years from their local schools and community

To enter you must contact and register at your local credit union who will have registration forms.Credit Union Locator

It has been decided to run the Art for Kids in one region on a trial basis from 2008. Chapters/Regions will be invited to apply to run the events in their area, with one successful region to be chosen.

All workshops would then take place in this area.

Hopefully this will give us more places.

Schools Quiz 2007

The annual Credit Union Schools Quiz has been one of the most popular and successful promotions undertaken by the credit union movement over the past 16 years. Over 25,000 pupils to compete North and South!

Credit Unions are investing in our children‘s future. The School Quiz is not just about involving credit unions with their members and potential members, or winning, but about learning and team work for all entrants.

We had 184 entries in the School Quiz,

Credit Union Poster Competition

HOW THE COMPETITION WORKS

Young people can draw or paint posters, this year the theme was "Credit Unions: 50 years serving communities in Ireland" using pencil, charcoal, pen or ink, felt-tip markers, crayon, pastel, water colours, gouache, acrylics, oils, poster colour or collage.

Prints done from a lino block, wood block or any other method are also allowed. No computer aided design (CAD) may be entered.

There are two categories "General" and "Special" with the following age groups in each:

2. 7 years and under 8-10 years 11-13 years 14-17 years 18 years and over.

The "Special" category encourages participants with a physical or intellectual disability to submit entries in free expression without the restriction of the competition's official theme (should they so wish).

HOW TO ENTER
Entry forms are available from Kilnamanagh Credit Union.

All entries must be submitted to Kilnamanagh Credit Union together with a fully completed Entry Form. Please check with Kilnamanagh Credit Union for closing dates.

Local winners in each category go forward to Regional Finals run by the regional Credit Union Chapter and those winners go through to the National Final.

Prizes will be awarded at each stage.
